Winning at everything is a trap.
When success comes easy, you never learn the one skill that actually matters: how to fail.
Because sooner or later, life puts you in an arena where you're not the best. Where you get humbled. Where showing up takes everything you've got.
That moment isn't a setback. It's actually the whole point.
Grit doesn't get built when you're winning but it does get built when you're losing, you're angry about it, and you decide to show up anyway. Again and again and again.
So if you're struggling with something right now—if you're getting hammered and it's making you frustrated—good. That's not a sign you're failing. That's the sign you're finally being built into who you're capable of becoming.
Don't run from the thing that humbles you. That's exactly where you grow.

A lot of guys get out of the military saying the same thing:
"I'm gonna be my own boss. I'll never work for anyone again."
Cool. Doing what?
"…I don't know."
That's the problem. A mindset isn't a skill set. You need something real to offer—something that transfers.
Johnny figured that out when he stumbled into line work. He started researching it, saw the career path, then saw the benefits package… and that sealed it.
The trades aren't a backup plan. For a lot of people, they're the smartest move on the table.
If you've got the drive but no direction yet—get a skill that pays. The rest follows with time.
