Qualify to obtain a valid Commercial Learner’s Permit (For four weeklong classes this will be obtained the first week of class)
Possess a valid DOT physical with medical card (this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Pass A DOT FMCSA 5 panel drug screen (marijuana, THC, cocaine, amphetamines, opioids, and PCP) this can also be obtained the first week of class for four weeklong programs)
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language
A high school diploma or GED is NOT required
All interested individuals must complete an enrollment application and be approved by an admissions representative at the school

Midwest took us in when NMU got closed down. They had us in class and training within days. Our instructor Billy Oglesby is top notch. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure we finished our training and set us up to be successful truck drivers. Billy has put me in contact with possible employer as well. Thank you midwest!
I was lucky enough to have different teachers and get the experience from both Dave and Frenchy. They gave me the skills and knowledge to feel comfortable behind the wheel and proceed into test day for my CDL B with confidence.
I appreciated how much the school communicated with me from the beginning. I felt prepared going into my written DOT exam for the cdl permit, and the class is very hands on. Instructors are easy to relate to and want you to succeed.

I can’t say enough about Midwest Truck Driving School in Escanaba, MI. Everyone there was super friendly, and more importantly SUPER HELPFUL. I went there to learn how to drive a manual truck, and that’s exactly what they taught me. I felt like I had a whole team behind me, helping me become a better driver. Josh, Dave, Penny, and Bill (and the girls in the office) all leant there considerable knowledge (and patience 🫣)

I highly recommend Midwest Truck Driving School to anyone looking to get their CDL. I'm currently taking my Class B training here, and the experience has been excellent. My instructor, Frenchy, is very knowledgeable, patient, and extremely hands-on with his training.
